Dear Georgetown Little League Parents,

REGISTRATION REMINDERS

Hard to believe but January is flying by very quickly.  We are one month from the planned close of registration on February 28^th, 2023.  First, thank you to all of you that have completed registration.  Registration numbers are up compared to last year at this same time.  Hoping that is a sign that people are excited about the 50^th Anniversary Season at GTLL.  There is nothing else you need to do at this moment (unless you have some paperwork to provide, more on that in a moment). 

For those that either have not completed registration and those wishing to register, you still have time yet to register.  I realize for a lot of people, the Christmas bills are coming due or have other reasons for waiting to register till closer to the deadline.

Also, please let other parents (family, church, school, organizations) know that registration is open and if they either live or go to school in our boundaries, we would be happy to have them sign up.  If you have questions about the boundaries, please reach out to me or other board members. 

I want to point out that the sooner you can register (and possibly even volunteer to coach), the easier it is for each Division VP and the board to determine the approximate number teams/managers/coaches we need for each division, which is important as we start tryouts on March 4^th.  Also, we can start setting the game schedule for Majors and below (District 10 prepares the schedule for Intermediate, Juniors and Seniors). 

I also wanted to add that we already have enough players signed up for Intermediate (Age 13) to make one team.  I truly hope that we will have 2-3 teams by the end of registration.  That was really good and talented group of kids and I want to see them playing at Georgetown in our new division.  Those games will be played during the week other than Opening Day, with the possible exception of makeup dates, and District/City/All Star tournaments. 

Registration On-Line – Remember, for those that still wish to register on-line, you go to Georgetownbaseball.net.  Once on the home page, you select Register (for those new to the league) or Login (for those in returning to Georgetown).  Those buttons can be found in the upper right corner of the home page.

Paperwork – If you are having trouble with attaching paperwork as a part of the on-line registration, you have another opportunity to bring that information in on February 18^th when we hold the last in-person registration at Faith Baptist. 

I have received a couple of questions regarding the school form, if you are using that to allow your child(ren) to play at GTLL.  You complete the information on the form.  Vonda Warren, our VP Player Agent, collects those forms and takes them to the various schools to obtain the school signatures.  You yourself do not need to obtain the school signature.

PARENTS NIGHT IS BACK

We are glad to say that we are bringing back our Parents Night at Blackhawk Middle School on Wednesday, March 29.  Rookie and Prep parents will meet from 6-7, Minors and Majors from 7-8.  Parents who wish to attend only need to attend one of the two hours.  I will publish more on that meeting in future emails and postings.  We will have a separate Parents Night for Intermediate/Juniors/Seniors at GTLL on a date to be determined.

2. Registration closes on February 28, 2023.Registration must be complete by that date.
3. Tryouts for Prep Divisions on up – March 4, 11, 18, 2023
4. Parents Nights – March 29, 2023
5. Umpire Clinics (Mainly ages 13-16) – March 5, 12, and 19, 2023 – Faith Baptist Church (2-4)
6. Coaches Clinic – March 26, 2023 – Faith Baptist Church – (1-4, 1-1:30 First Aid Portion)
7. First Games – April 17, 2023
8. Opening Day – April 23, 2023
9. 50^th Anniversary Celebration – Tenatively set for April 29^th.Events being planned.
10. Tin Caps Game – April 30, 2023
