Dear Georgetown Little League Parents,
March 25th Tryout Schedule and March 26th Draft Schedule
For those that did not tryout this past Saturday but do need to tryout, the schedule for the March 25 will be as follows (try to arrive 15 minutes prior to get your child's number in the entrance area of the facility):
10:00 am – 6, 7 and 8 year olds
11:30 am – 9 and 10 year olds
12:30 pm – 11 and 12 year olds. In addition, any 13 year old that did not play at Georgetown last year, I believe there are only 2 players, we ask those 2 players come out to tryout as well.
Reminder for 10, 11 and 12 year olds, only players that were not on a Majors team last year need to tryout, including players that are newly protected this year – a Little League requirement. Also, players that are protected in Prep and Minors do not need to tryout.
Again, a big thanks to Hupe Insurance for allowing Georgetown to utilize their Hupe Fieldhouse facility for our tryouts. Hupe Fieldhouse is located at 7011 Stellhorn Road.
PARKING AT HUPE FIELDHOUSE - PLEASE AVOID PARKING ON THE GRASS.
With the rain expected later this week and slightly warmer temperatures, please refrain from parking on the grass. Please be safe and patient while parking as there will be a number of people coming and going. If you need to wait till a spot opens up, please do. We have time to get your children through tryouts.
Rookie Parents
Reminder for parents of the Rookie (Tball and Coaches Pitch) Division, those children do not tryout.
March 26 – Draft – Faith Baptist Church Basement
Coaches – The draft schedule is as follows:
Majors 2pm-3:30pm
Minors 3:30pm-5pm
Prep 5pm-6:30pm
Reminder that Coaches Clinic is on March 26 from 11am-12:15pm at Spiece Fieldhouse and the First Aid Clinic from 12:15-1:30.
Rosters – Teams – Manager Contacts (except Rookie)
After the draft, the team rosters and contact information will be sent to the manager assuming that they have completed their required assignment. From there, parents, you will be contacted. Game schedules will be put together very soon and given to the managers.
For Intermediate, the coaches are working on their draft. For Juniors, there is only one team.
Rookie Teams
Rookie teams will be formulated very soon. We are looking at 12 teams, yes, 12 teams (up from 8 teams last year and 6 in the prior couple of years before 2022) which is fantastic. More information to come for those teams.
Parents Night – March 29
Finally, a reminder that parents night is also very close. Wednesday, March 29 at Blackhawk Middle School. Rookie and Prep from 6-7 and Minors and Majors from 7-8. This is the first parent's night since 2019 so please attend if you can.
