Georgetown All Star Success and Fall Ball Registration Reminder/Update

2024 – Georgetown All Star Champions – Fall Ball Update

All Star Teams Victorious in District 10 Competition

2024 has been a very successful year for Georgetown in District 10 All Star competition.  This week alone, our 7U, 10U and 11U won their respective District championships.  Combined with the 13U championship won a few weeks ago, Georgetown won four of the seven district championships that they were entered (7U-14U).   There are a number of new banners to be hung at Georgetown.  We are needing to find new locations to put them but that is a good problem to have.

Our 14U team (Juniors) went to the District championship game against the eventual State Champion, Foster Park.   We wish Foster Park good luck as they go to the Regional competition at Midland, Michigan.

Our 13U (Intermediate) team lost to a very strong HYR team (near Louisville) who won their 7
th consecutive 13U state championship.  That HYR team won their Regional championship this week as well and now go to California for the National competition (the equivalent of the Little League Championship in Williamsport for the 12U teams).  We wish HYR good luck in California.

I will also mention that Georgetown was very competitive in the 8U and 12U District events.

With our growth in numbers and success in these various All Star competitions, as well as winning the Minors and Intermediate city championships, we feel that this is a good sign in the years to come for Georgetown.

Fall Ball Registration Update and Reminder

There is still plenty of room for players at all levels for Fall Ball.  Fall Ball Registration is scheduled to cutoff on Sunday, August 4th.  We need individuals to volunteer as coaches.  Please contact Chris Schulenberg at [email protected] to let him know of your interest.

We have received a number of questions regarding the Fall Ball schedule on Sundays.  We typically do not start games until 1:00 at the earliest to all people to attend church.  Games are usually around 1 pm and 3 pm or 1:30 and 3:30.  There are no practices after the first game is started but we did allow Minors, Majors and Intermediate teams to have one practice the day before the first game to go over basics to help the development process.

We have seen that Fall Ball is an excellent opportunity for players to either refine their skills, get introduced to the next division, or even give Little League a try when they have not participated in Little League previously.  I know that the 13U All Star team mentioned above had a couple of players on the team that only just started Little League baseball in the last couple of years with Fall Ball being their initial introduction.  Thus, it is not too late for your child to start playing.  Even if you will play at another Little League, Fall Ball is a great development opportunity for players.
